Feeding Instructions

Contraindications

Do not use if your pet is pregnant, nursing or scheduled for surgery within 2 weeks. Contraindicated for pets with hypothyroidism due to its ability to decrease thyroid hormone levels. May potentiate effects of blood thinning medications. Contraindicated for pets that are allergic to aspirin or salicylate compounds. Possibly contraindicated with blood thinning (Coumadin) medication.

Drug Interactions

May potentiate sedative effects of barbiturates, anesthetics, and CNS depressants such as diazepam (Valium) or amitriptyline (Elavil) and is cautioned for use when combined. May potentiate the anticoagulant Coumadin.

Cautions

Cautioned for use with estrogen medications such as tamoxifen (Nolvadex) or if your animal has estrogen-sensitive cancer such as breast cancer, uterine cancer, ovarian cancer, endometriosis, or uterine fibroids. Cautioned for pets with low blood pressure or low blood sugar. Cautioned for animals with allergies to mint, ragweed, chrysanthemums or other flowers in the Aster family and for pets with bleeding disorders.

Dosage

Dogs and cats up to 12 pounds: 1 scoop, two times daily. Dogs and cats 13-25 pounds: 2 scoops, two times daily. Dogs and cats 26+ pounds: 3 scoops, two times daily. Scoop included to dispense flavored powder.
