Steph co-founded SF Puppy Prep, San Francisco’s first puppy-only daycare and training center, helping generations of local puppies grow with confidence.

Before taking over Bernal Beast, Steph and Alan spent decades as certified trainers, experienced dog walkers, and longtime Bernal residents. They also helped pioneer off-leash dog exercise spaces in Montara for local dog communities.

Keeping Bernal Beast Local

When longtime owner Tony Crisanthis prepared to retire, Steph and Alan stepped in to preserve the beloved Bernal Heights pet shop and continue building a neighborhood-centered space for pets and their people.

When the pandemic happened, San Francisco was full of new puppy parents. Bernal Beast became a place for guidance, training, puppy socials, and community during a time when connection mattered more than ever.
